BLECH. This came out tasting like your typical Folgers cheap 3-lb can of coffee - the kind I first drank when I was 20 years old and hated the stuff but needed to stay awake long enough during the day to collect a paycheck - except this even more bitter with a nasty aftertaste. Tasted like a bad pot of decaf. I've made my own at home using Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Peets, and just about every other brand available in the store.I did my usual procedure at home with my drip coffee maker, and followed their directions on the back of the bag to the "T" just to be sure.
I highly recommend just about any other brand over this stuff. It's at least a little bit drinkable. NASTY stuff.If you're going to drink Dunkin Donuts ground coffee, at least get the DD dark roast. From friends and relatives they always used to rave about their coffee. They even run commercials here "America Runs on Dunkin" even though there isn't a single Dunkin Donuts within at least 1500 miles.Was in the store the other day and found a 2-pack of the original medium roast coffee on sale so I bought it. I've had K-cups, I've had pods. Yet, you could tell it was completely a underroasted bean and no kick whatsoever.
Not way better than this, but still a slight improvement.About the only thing this coffee is the "100% Arabica" it has going for it. I live in California and I remember Dunkin Donuts from when I was a little kid and lived back east. Let me say that I make my own coffee at home and also buy different coffees on the road; I am not overly picky, but definitely know what is good and what is not. I made a second pot the other day just to be sure it wasn't a fluke, it wasn't.
DD is way superior to anything in a grocery store, all of which is garbage compared to DD. A world standard.
The price has gone up, but the quality has taken a serious nose-dive. The coffee was no better than the bottom-shelf grind I buy at the grocery store for a fraction of the price. I've loved Dunkin' Donuts for years; my family often gives me bags of their ground coffee for Christmas, knowing it's an easy "hit". I got two bags last Christmas, and it was a disappointment. I've bought a couple of store-brewed cups to see if was an isolated incident, with similar results: the coffee just isn't what it used to be.
Maxwell House, Folgers, the like). DD coffee is definitely better than average (ie. Maybe not quite as good as some upscale coffees (organics, stuff like Green Mt., etc)., but it's still worthy and relatively cheap.
